ALS Learning Series: Clinical Trials 101 Webinar
Please join us for our second ALS Learning Series webinar, Clinical Trials 101 on Tuesday, December 8, at 12pm CST, featuring Benjamin Joslin, CCRC, clinical research project manager with Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine.
During this discussion, Benjamin will provide a basic understanding of ALS research and inform patients about how they can participate in clinical trials at our Lois Insolia ALS Clinic at the Les Turner ALS Center at Northwestern Medicine.
He will go over the different aspects of clinical trials and their definitions, including phase I, II, III, IV trials and observational studies. Benjamin will also focus on prescreening procedures at Northwestern Medicine, placebo-controlled trials, and will highlight the breakthrough Healey Platform Trial. Hope Through Caring Award Honoree
We are excited to announce Bob Ives as our 2021 Hope Through Caring Award honoree. Bob, who has lived with ALS since 2014, will be presented with the award at our virtual Hope Through Caring Gala on Saturday, March 20.
As an engineer and business owner, Bob has never backed down from a challenge. His tenacity was formed as a young lieutenant in the Army during the building of the Berlin Wall and the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Both these traits have served him well since his diagnosis. Bob and his wife, Mary, are active in our Chicago Support Group, and are dedicated donors to the Foundation’s Research and Support Services program.
